His sonata in four movements was I read written in 1891. I don't recall ever having heard it. Can any one post it?
In fact no piano sonatas at all have yet been posted in our Belgian Music section . . . there's a worthwhile challenge: can we find any?

The thread topic sounds like a wonderful "special subject" for Mastermind.

Thank you Balapoel for that interesting and extensive collection. There are a lot of items on it which will repay investigation.

You're welcome, Sydney. Of these, I'm most interested in Ryelandt - he has a wide oeuvre that remains unheard, particularly in those forms I'm interested in, including: 3 cello sonatas 7 violin sonatas 5 string quartets (possibly 6) 2 piano trios
5 symphonies (only two of which are recorded)

Nos. 1,3,4, & 5 have been issued on CD. Only No.2 is unrecorded I believe.

Great. I remember some out of print recordings years back - hopefully they'll be available again. I'll check it out.

Paul de Maleingreau wrote about 7. Apparently some descendant of his, a pianist, doesn't want anyone else to play them, and possesses some kind of rights over them. But she doesn't seem very fast in editing them (they are in ms) and recording them herself. What a pity. This is not the only instance of this sort of moronic behaviour that I can think of.
