Florent Schmitt (1870 to 1958) - String Quartet. in G opus 112 (1947):

From a wireless broadcast of a public concert; duration forty minutes. The energetic style of this long work recalls that of his (perhaps) best-known composition, the Psalm 47.

Jacques Bondon (1927-2008)  -  Kaléidoscope (for Ondes Martenot & Chamber Orchestra)(1964)

The seven parts are:
1 La grotte phosforescente (The glowing cave)
2 Décor de rêve (The decor of dream)
3 L'étrange défilé (The strange parade)
4 La lune magique (The magical moon)
5 La jardin de cristal (The crystal garden)
6 Le Monstre (The monster)
7 La couleur qui dansait (The colour that danced)

Jeanne Loriod, Ondes Martenot
Orchestre de Chambre de Musique Contremporaine
Jacques Bondon, conductor
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ijqf3cr8f0p12dz

from lp Erato STE 50254

This is the second version of this composition. The first was written for Ondes Martenot, piano and percussion in 1957. Bondon wrote two additional pieces for the suite. In this recording the closing piece is La Couleur qui dansaint (The Colour that danced), which was the fifth (and last) piece of the first version.
After discussions with the composer (who conducts here) the two additonal pieces were incorporated in the Suite as nrs 4 & 5.

Arthur Honegger (1892 to 1955) - Nicolas de Flue, dramatic legend for chorus and orchestra (1939):

http://www.mediafire.com/?jh4uddtwbb3oa9w

From a wireless broadcast of a 1953 performance; duration one hour and four minutes. There is some information about Nicolas HERE. He seems to sport an Umlaut in English and German, but not in French.

Honegger was born in France, and spent very little time in Switzerland (the country of his parents), so it was an easy decision to slot him into the French section here.
