Estonian Music Days Festival
07.04.2015

At the end of this week, Estonian Music Days – the main festival of new creations by Estonian composers – will start in Tallinn. Main theme of this year’s festival is Abundance with its several shades, juxtapositions and implications. Festival presents over 30 new compositions from our professional composers and the same amount from the young composers.

Works will be performed by Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, ensemble Sepia (Poland), Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre Sinfonietta, Toomas Trass (organ), Ensemble U;, Ensemble Resonabilis, Vox Clamantis and many others. During the festival two CD-s will be presented: the author-CD of composer Märt-Matis Lill and CD of Ensemble U:. Program features also lectures, discussion, exhibitions and club night. The festival is enriched by a new initiation – the mini EMD, which is organised by highschoolers all across Estonia. Festival is organised by Estonian Composers’ Union, its artistic directors are Helena Tulve and Timo Steiner. Festival takes place from April 10 to 17.
