This is tragic news :o :(

I think that I have every copy of IRR since it started publication. I stopped buying "The Gramophone" because of the dramatic decline in the length and quality of its cd reviews. IRR dealt almost exclusively with reviews of cds and these reviews were lengthy and extremely detailed.

Having paid my year's subscription in advance last November I shall have actually lost money as a result of the company's demise but-much more importantly-this leaves a gaping hole in the market. There is the online Musicweb and those who review new releases for that site do so with both knowledge and enthusiasm but-with the greatest possible respect to these individuals-they do not quite match the team of critics who wrote for IRR (of whom my late friend Malcolm MacDonald was one).

Very, very sad :( :(

I totally agree. I have been a subscriber from day 1 as well. At last I only renewed for one year in Januay.
