I generally agree, but I'll happily listen to a synthesized/digital rendering of a work if it's realistically the only chance I'll likely have to hear it.

The link to the symphony at least offers more info. I try to start listening to the work and stopped in 5 secs. Can not get used to those synths.
Some time ago I was in contact with a young(er) Norwegian composer, Filip Sande, who also has a couple of synth files on his site. He doesn't like the sounds as well, he told me, but it is the only way his works can be heard. There is no money, and probably also no time, to record the works properly. But sometimes .... and that's what we all are waiting for.

I find something about synth, moog, theramin and other electronic "instruments" to be a difficult listen at best.
