Details of Amazon's cross-border tax dodge
[The Guardian]

No wonder other booksellers are fuming.

The peculiar aspect of all this is that when we were in Amsterdam for a fortnight over New Year, I tried to order a leather case for my wife's tablet computer. Amazon don't have a Netherlands outlet - if you try to order from there, you get redirected to their UK site.  And on the UK site I got an error message, saying that a leather computer case can't be delivered from the UK to the Netherlands...  'for copyright reasons'.

My brother readdressed the item to us in Amsterdam instead, and we got it four days later.
