Thanks for the symphonies and other works of Bruno Bjelinski, I find them lively, unpretentious, fun and definitely more profound than they seem at first hearing (the slow movements are very beautiful).

I second the praise of Bjelinski, I find his music enchanting and original. I think it was his 7th symphony that I found to be quite remarkable..

Since several forum members were interested in Bruno Bjelinski's symphonies, here are some of them. The quality varies from a file to another, one of them has quite a few hiccups and gaps unfortunately, but still one can hear what the music should sound like.
Bjelinski's music is not strikingly original, there are clear affinities with Prokofiev for instance, sometimes Poulenc as well. Yet, it is personal, easily recognizable, has a distinctive Mediterranean flavour. I find it often enticing, witty, ironic, heartfelt and definitely more profound that it may appear at first hearing.
Bruno Bjelinski (1909-1992)
...
. His operas, especially the works oriented to children, should be even more pleasing...Has anyone ever heard any of them? .

I am also much enjoying listening to Bjelinski's music. I am really impressed by his imagination and consummate craftsmanship - every movement is a gem. It is a crying shame this wonderful music is not better known.
