I attended the first professional British performance of the symphony a month ago in Perth: BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra/Andrew Manze.

It is a worthwhile work.....a bit too long and with some sections which could have done with trimming but there is some magnificent Brucknerian brass work (the ending is magnificent). A bit of a mixture of Brahms and Bruckner. Stenhammer never strikes me as particularly "Swedish"...but that may, of course, increase his appeal :)
