Hello everyone, found my way to this forum just now, and am already making some interesting discoveries - hope to find ways to contribute to the discussions here! Was particularly happy to find a score of Alexandrov's 2nd piano concerto (symphony-concerto?!), which I also just discovered. I'm a pianist, feel free to have a little look at my website: http://www.martinmalmgren.com/

Belated greetings :)
Interesting that your website says that you champion the music of that fine Polish composer Grazyna Bacewicz. Her unrecorded Piano Concerto(1949) does not appear however to be in your repertoire.
There is an off-air (or it may be from an old LP) recording available from this site. If you have not heard it then it is worth a listen.

Many thanks! And thanks for reminding me of Grazyna's music - I like her music a lot, but have mostly played violin-piano works so far. The two-piano concerto appears to be a very strong piece. I'm surprised the Piano Concerto has not been recorded! Interestingly enough, I was just offered a concert with orchestra where the other orchestral works programmed were Lutoslawskis Musique funebre (in memoriam bela bartok) and bartok's concerto for orchestra - some Bacewicz inbetween would certainly have been justified. I already gave my suggestions though (Medtner 1st, Prok 5th and Magnus Lindberg 1st) and the orchestra was in favor of Prokofiev this time. Can you give me a link to the link on this site to the off-air recording? Made a search but couldnt find anything.
