ESTONIAN HERITAGE Friday, April 11, 2014 at 7 pm — Estonia Concert Hall 4th concert of FESTIVO series
Erkki-Sven Tüür. “De profundis” (premiere) Helena Tulve. ”Südamaa” (“Heartland”) for piano and orchestra (premiere) Heino Eller. “Symphonic Legend“
MIHKEL POLL (piano) Estonian National Symphony Orchestra Conductor OLARI ELTS
New pieces alongside pearls from the history of music are presented during the Estonian Music Days. Erkki-Sven Tüür’s “De Profundis” was born as a joint commission by the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and ENSO, Olari Elts as Principal Guest Conductor of both. “De profundis” will be performed in Helsinki on 1 November, in Tallinn a few months later. Helena Tulve’s Piano Concerto was commissioned by ENSO, and the solo written for Mihkel Poll. Along with these new pieces, the 90-year-old “Symphonic Legend” by Heino Eller will also be performed.
“Today’s ENSO with its differentiated sound and high technical abilities, with which Olar Elts is completely familiar, is unconditionally ready to follow him on stage.” (Maris Valk-Falk, Sirp, 10.05.2013)
Concert is organised by ENSO and Estonian Composers’ Union.
Single ticket 20 € / 15 €. Tickets on sale in Estonia Concert Hall box offices and on Piletimaailm and Piletilevi
Should be a great concert... ERSO is always impressive.
