I found this - it's a list of Lithuanian composers with links to recordings that you can listen to (but not download, as far as I can tell).

Thanks for the pointer to all these unfamiliar names! As far as I can see, the musical links are all just short samples of around a minute. It is however possible to download them in a fairly straightforward way:

1) Click on the red link marked "PLAY" (the example I chose at random was a string quartet of Vladas Jakubėnas). A small player window will pop up.

2) Right click on the small player window and choose "view page source" (I am using the Firefox browser here).

3) In the page source window there are only two important lines. The first important line will say:

         <base href="http://www.mic.lt/" />

and the second important line will say something like:

         var playurl = '/en/classical/stream/audio/2661/3cb5211e4ceadf448cd414a24b6abef9/xdl.mp3';

To get the address of the music file, all you have to do is to tack two fragments together. In this case I cut two vital parts and paste them into Notepad, and the result is:

         http://www.mic.lt/en/classical/stream/audio/2661/3cb5211e4ceadf448cd414a24b6abef9/xdl.mp3

See the two parts combined?

4) You can use that address to download an mp3 file directly. In this case - by some miracle which I don't yet understand - the downloaded file already bears the name Jakubenas_-_Styginiu_kvartetas_1.mp3 instead of simply xdl.mp3 .

And of course once you have downloaded it you can rename it to suit your taste. But as I indicated, these seem to be only one minute snippets - better than nothing though, so thank you!

I am travelling to Lithuania this week.

Having done a bit of forward research, one composer whose music I would very much like to hear more of is Jurgis Karnavičius (1884-1941) - I have discovered two pieces of his online and think they are wonderful:

Gražina's aria, from his opera Gražina - - Sung by soprano Gražina Apanavičiūtė.

and a fragment from what I am guessing is a symphonic poem or maybe an overture called The Oval Portrait - http://www.mic.lt/en/classical/persons/info/karnavicius?ref=%2Fen%2Fclassical%2Fpersons%2F41

Another Lithuanian composer who has an opera aria on youtube that I am enjoying is Mikas Petrauskas (1873-1937) - Birutė's aria from his opera Birutė -   Sung by soprano Asta Kriksciunaite.  Another version here with soprano Gražina Apanavičiūtė -
