Splendid news :)

I do wish though that BIS would go back and record the Sixth Symphony ::)

Already have this! I've heard Minea and the 15th before, but the Double Bass Concerto was a nice revelation. Concertos for that instrument are a challenge, but Aho once again proves he can write for any instrument (see also the concertos for contrabassoon and tuba, other unwieldy bass instruments). Minea and the 15th are performed even better than in those live recordings that are available here (perhaps to be expected from a studio recording). All in all, another excellent release in their Aho series.

Hello Tapiola,

the BIS recordings are always(mostly) available as FLAC downloads for purchase from
http://www.eclassical.com/
before the physical CD will be released. It is the download shop related to BIS in a similar way as
"The Classical Shop" for Chandos.

If you have got some advanced audio equipment, you can buy the files in 24 bit (HD) Studio Master quality,
giving you - like SACDs - even better sound than possible on conventional CDs. For some time (2-4 weeks)
from the start of these new releases, they offer the HD files for the same price (called 24 FLAC discount)
as those in standard CD quality.

The downloads for the new Aho disc can be found at
http://www.eclassical.com/labels/bis/aho-symphony-no15.html.
