I suppose some friends of the forum like to get autographs from composers (an example is in the thread about the death of Sir John Tavener).
I have got personally autographs from the hand of the following composers:
Alfred Schnittke
Gyorgy Ligeti
Sofia Gubaidulina
Kaija Saariaho
Esa Pekka Salonen
Henry Dutilleux
Olivier Messiaen
Krystof Penderecky
Leonard Bernstein
Luciano Berio
Franco Donatoni
Philip Glass
Michael Daugherty
Aaron Jay Kernis
Boris Tischenko
Peter Maxwell Davies
Harrison Birtwistle
Arvo Paart
John Adams
Pierre Boulez
Michael Tilson Thomas
(Maybe some other less important)
Some of the above are/were also conductors (more likely to "travel" in the wold)
I have got all the autographs above (excepted the Bernstein, collected in Milano), in my city, Torino, not a metropolis.
Maybe the list shows that also the composers (and also the ones not conductors or performers) "travel and move".

John Tavener (RIP)
Lennox Berkeley
Malcolm Arnold

All signed autographs for me and Ursula Vaughan Williams sent me a book of essays by Vaughan Williams which is a treasured possession.

I had very nice letters (response to fan mail from):

George Lloyd
David Diamond
William Alwyn
John Kinsella
Vagn Holmboe

I also had a lovely letter from George Lloyd, and two autographs from Tippett.

I also enjoy collecting autographs.
My favourite is a signed programme of Shostakovich's 15th symphony.

Signed both by the composer and the conductor, Svetlanov.

When I lived in the real world and had a proper job I blew my salary on accumulating such ephemera, many of which I still have: an 1870 letter from Sullivan (then at 47 Claverton Terrace) telling an unknown recipient that The Prodigal Son was unlikely to be performed in Manchester in the near future; Parry AMQS (unidentified, 1901); Elgar AMQS (opening of Symphony No.2, 1927); Bantock AMQS (bass-clef g-b repeated, undated); Vaughan Williams AMQS (treble clef c-g, undated); Holst AMQS (Hymn of Jesus, year unknown but from a birthday book); Scott AMQS (Piano Concerto No.1, 1920); Boughton AMQS (The Red International, 1929); a 1963 letter from Malcolm Arnold - "I do not keep records of my works, believing that such things are best forgotten!"

As if!

I will never part with any of them - must order a larger coffin (a la Queen Anne)...
