Couldn't get to the music from that link, unfortunately, but agree that the article was interesting. I'd love to hear Rose Lake; for me his second Symphony is somewhere near the summit of melodic orchestral writing.

I agree that the 2nd symphony is wonderful, and I was delighted to hear it at the Proms this year. The Rose Lake I have yet to get to grips with, as with much late Tippett. I think critical opinion is still against his late works, but we should probably wait a few decades before judging too hastily. Walton's late work is at last becoming appreciated a bit more, and the same could happen for Tippett
