I was very excited to come across this channel of otherwise unavailable music by the great American composer David Diamond:
http://www.youtube.com/user/pokajanen?feature=watchWorks I have longed to hear can be found on this channel, including his early Cello Concerto, his Concerto for String Quartet and Orchestra (a substantial piece at 38 minutes' length), his Concerto for Small Orchestra, his Overture
Timon of Athens, and a juvenilia Symphony in One Movement which I did not know existed, along with some band, chamber and piano pieces. I know Colin (who shares my great admiration for Diamond) will be especially pleased with my discovery ;D
:)
P.S.: We BADLY need modern recordings of Diamond's Symphonies 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11! It is quite unfortunate that Naxos has abandoned their mini-series of Diamond's orchestral music :(
