Swiss Internet Radio has a daily-changing program of unusual and rarely-heard opera, with occasional mainstream works in fine performances too.
The playlist is updated every couple of days in advance - details here.  They've somehow got their days/dates muddled up this week, but this
hand-built element is all part of the charm of a project run and managed by real enthusiasts Smiley

There's a juicy German-language opera day today on Swiss Radio:

all times are on Geneva Time

09:46 Conradin Kreutzer - Das Nachtlager in Granada (1992) Capriccio (D)
 11:25 Louis Spohr - Faust (Version 1852) (1993) CPO (D)
 13:46 Giacomo Meyerbeer - L'Étoile Du Nord (1988) Marco Polo (F)
 16:39 Léo Delibes - Lakmé (1991) Nuova Era (F)
19:11 Ernest Chausson - Le Roi Arthus (2004) Telarc (F)
21:57 Giuseppe Verdi - Don Carlos (1983) Deutsche Grammophon (F)

The Spohr version of Faust is a don't-miss!  The Chausson, too, has its own fan base Smiley

Then the Meyerbeer is an opera about Tsar Peter the Great Smiley

 04:00 Richard Strauss - Die Ägyptische Helena (2001) Dynamic (D) - 1st recording
06:03 Richard Strauss - Die Liebe der Danae (2000) Telarc (D)
08:40 Ralph Vaughan Williams - Riders to the Sea (1995) Chandos (E)
 09:22 Douglas Moore - Carry Nation (1968) Bay Cities (E) - 1st recording
 11:26 Marc Blitzstein - Regina (1991) London Records (E)
13:58 Benjamin Britten - Owen Wingrave (1970) London Records (E)
15:44 William Walton - Troilus and Cressida (1995) Chandos (E)
17:57 Michael Tippett - The Ice Break (1990) EMI (E)
19:11 Aaron Copland - The Tender Land (1990) Virgin Classics Digital (E)
20:57 Gerhard Rosenfeld - Kniefall in Warschau (1998) Thorofon (D)
22:43 Witold Rudzinski - Odprawa poslów greckich (1966) Polskie Nagrania (PL)
23:30 Robert Ward - The Crucible (1989) Albany Records (E)

Wednesday/Mittwoch
 01:20 Carlisle Floyd - Susannah (1993) Virgin Classics (E)

A Marc Blitzstein work that ISN'T "And the cradle will rock"!!  Tippett's astonishing THE ICE BREAK. And Robert Ward's THE CRUCIBLE - a work I rate very highly indeed! Smiley)  And Carlisle Floyd's super SUSANNAH for the night owls Smiley)
