Rather for a long time on YT already: Joep Franssens' Grace
I realised I had this on one of my harddisks for some time, but gave it not the attention I should have. Modern orchestral music of great beauty IMHO.
Here are the links:

Why Franssen's incredibly beautiful music is not far better known totally eludes me ::)

"Grace" could easily be called 'The Sea' I think. In another work of his,Joep Franssens lets a chorus and orchestra sound like the Universe": You should try "Harmony of the Spheres".
and there is also: Magnificat (soprano, chorus and orchestra)

Thank you so much for drawing this to my attention :) :)
The first work of Franssens I encountered was "Bridge of Dawn"-which is just breathtakingly beautiful. When I first heard it-expecting nothing, except some modern-sounding Dutchman's music-I was totally astounded. The combination of a sort of Mahlerian sound-world updated is just jaw-droppingly gorgeous :)

He has, as you might expect, a website, which I've found pretty informative; gives an idea of where to look out for upcoming performances, and info. of what's to be found on-line. Having a Franssens evening at the end of a long day's work - a recommended wind-down !

Those attuned to the Franssens idiom should not be put off by the title "Roaring Rotterdam" ;D
Franssen's definition of "roaring" has nothing leonine about it ;D ;D

I had not previously downloaded "Harmony of the Spheres" for mixed choir and string orchestra......but am doing so now :)
It lasts for 63 minutes.
I need some balm tonight. I have just heard that a school headteacher I knew quite well has drowned after his sledge overshot out onto a frozen lake and went through the ice. He clung on for 20 minutes with his wife and children watching but the lake is so remote that the rescue services could not arrive in time. Utterly heartbreaking :( :( :(
