Discovered this piano concerto amongst the masses of Japanese Channels where occasionally something startling appears - if you can get a translation.
Saegusa appears to be a well-established composer, and I've enjoyed listening, but conventional it isn't, certainly to start with !

Be interested to know what learned colleagues make of the piece.        In expectation.           Clive.

He composed a wonderful violin concerto which is available on a Japanese Toshiba CD (TOCZ-9181)!

It's not very surprising to discover that Saegusa composes for anime. This piano concerto is very cinematic ... and I'm afraid in places rather corny. Still, good fun.

He is also the autor of the opera Chushingura (47 ronins) available some years ago in a Sony triple CD. ... and also "Jr.Butterfly", complete in YT, here the first of three acts
