Very sad, I'm rather fond of much of his music, which is always well written and attractive. The Crucible is also among my very favourite 20th Century Operas and also love the music for The Scarlet Letter.

Don't judge the Partita too harshly. It was witten as a satire of the criticisms about him. Too "Mozartian"? Try this he says. Some making fun of serialism also. Harold says the work is "terrible". I completely disagree but there you are.
