The Collins on-the-line dictionary is fundamentally very good; it appears to provide all known significations of all known words, as well as equivalents in twenty-four foreign languages. But certainly some one got her da capos in a twist here:

It's a nice thought but I rather doubt it; however, your mention of its possibility does at least offer me the opportunity to mention that a musicologist friend and colleague of mine calls that person Philippe de Vitry...
