This lavish-looking presentation from Glossa (Vol. 4 of their Collection Prix de Rome) will feature the cantatas, choruses, and symphonic music of the French late-romantic composer Max D'Ollone. Besides the 2 discs, a book is included in this set. Claves released a disc of some of D'Ollone's orchestral works: http://www.amazon.com/Orchestral-FrancoisJoel-Thiollier-Orchestra-Simfonica/dp/B004O0UVRE/ref=sr_1_2?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1358212262&sr=1-2&keywords=d%27ollone

...and Pierre Verany released a disc of his chamber works: http://www.amazon.com/Trio-Quartets-Dollone/dp/B00002DFI0/ref=sr_1_4?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1358212262&sr=1-4&keywords=d%27ollone

Let's hope there won't be too much duplication from the Claves disc, but whatever the case may be, this sure does look rather special! The performers are the Flemish Radio Choir and the Brussels Philharmonic under Herve Niquet. Here's D'Ollone's Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_d%27Ollone

I thought this was a Glossa series? The first 3 volumes are very wortwhile and contains lots of unknown music (G. Charpentier, Saint-Saens, early Debussy).

You are absolutely correct :)

Amazon listed the label as being "Allegro Corporation" ::)

I especially enjoyed the Charpentier set-lush, colorful music that makes one wish Charpentier had written more.

I am actually listening to the Saint-Saens now (recently aquired). Disc 2 is particularly fine.
