Wow! Naxos is really on a roll at present with releasing their reissues of the Collins Classics recordings of PMD's music! The latest reissue will feature his trumpet and piccolo concertos, as well as his Maxwell's Reel, with Northern Lights and Five Klee Pictures, both for orchestra.

I wish they would get round to the works I did not pick up when the Collins cds were available-

to be specific, the Strathclyde Concertos; of the set of ten I only have No.3. I got that from Sir Peter's wonderful website in its previous incarnation when you could order any of his compositions and a cd compilation would be specially made up for you at a very reasonable price.

That's how I also got the Antarctic Symphony, "The Beltane Fire" and the huge Oatorio "Job".

It's a real shame this cannot be done anymore :(

I, personally, have no problem with Naxos reissuing the Collins discs as I did not collect them in the first place.
