I had an experience today wherein Serbian radio advertised it would play Grazyna Bacewicz' Symphony No. 2, which was exciting to me as I have long championed her excellent work, yet the only one of her 4 symphonies that has been on commercial CD is Symphony No. 3. Well, the broadcast turned out to be Symphony No. 3, not No. 2. So I wonder if anyone has heard of any recordings of her other symphonies? Or does anyone have a shareable recording of any of them? I hadn't heard the No. 3 for awhile, so I enjoyed it again, though in the past it had not really struck me, so perhaps thinking I was hearing something new sharpened my ears, and now I will listen to it more often! Perhaps this should be under WishList, but I'm already finished typing it here. Thanks for any responses. Jim

I would like to second this request, as I greatly enjoyed the recording of Bacewicz's Symphony no. 3 on Koch Schwann :)

I have what I believe is an uploadable version of the 4th Symphony, with Bader and the Philharmonia Hungarica. I'll upload it when I have a chance.

Wonderful, Thanks. I wrote to Klassika Radio to ask about archival recordings, too.

I'll join in that!  Dux has just released a CD of Bacewicz's 2 cello concertos.

A good deal of Bacewicz's work is available to listen on classical-music-online.net, but amongst the symphonies only no. 3 !

Plenty of other compositions well worth trying, though !
