Some interesting repertoire coming up on Afternoon on 3:
Thursday 6th December - Ivor Gurney: A Gloucestershire Rhapsody (1919-21) Friday 7th December - Daniel Jones: Five Pieces for Orchestra (1939) Tuesday 11th December - John Maxwell Geddes: Ombre (1984)
Gurney's A Gloucestershire Rhapsody was premiered as recently as 2010 in Cheltenham (under Martyn Brabbins) and this is the work's first broadcast, as is the Daniel Jones.
I will record these three items for the archive.

Oh yes please! Thanks yet again, John. I really look forward to the Gurney: after hearing his 'War Elegy' on that wonderful Dutton CD, I would like to hear more of his orchestral music. Not that I imagine there is a great deal more.
