Better known as a violinist, Busch was also a composer-his catalogue is comparatively small, but includes a Concerto for orchestra, a Violin Concerto and other pieces for violin and orchestra, chamber music (some of which has been recorded before), and organ music. His compositions are in a late-romantic style, owing some debt to Reger in their harmonic language. This upcoming disc from Cavi-Music will feature Busch's music for clarinet and string quartet (exact contents unknown at present). The performers are Wolfgang Meyer (clarinet) and the Eisler Quartett.
