In my extreme and extraordinary naivety I carried out this exercise by concentrating entirely on those composers whose orchestral music I had catalogued.
I should have realised and appreciated that other members would be well aware of many other concertos for the different instruments of the orchestra by other composers and would-entirely properly-draw these to our attention.
Please forgive me if it takes some considerable time to assimilate all of the additional information provided :-[ I am however very very grateful for this information :)
Believe it or not, there was actually a deeper point to this exercise than simply my "listing mania" ;D ;D I shall attempt to put together an argument about the British concerto and present it for possible discussion (or indeed rubbishing ;D)
