Reading Theodorakis's Opus List i've seen that there is a full orchestral/chorus version of Axion Esti.Do you know if it has been ever recorded?
I've asked at Theodorakis web page no answer.Cds that i saw are for folk ensemble or reduced instrumentalists like Berlin Classics.

Hi Toby,

Actually it was recorded at least two times:

AMG EMI 14C 045 702
Grigoris Bithikotsis (zangstem)
Manos Katrakis (zangstem)
Mikis Theodorakis (dirigent)
Thalia Vizantiou Koor

Edel 0002802CCC
Gothart Stier (bariton)
Gunter Emmerlich (bas)
Lakis Karnezis (bouzouki)
Mikis Theodorakis (dirigent)
Kinderchor der Philharmonie in Dresden

This last one is included in 6-cd set, but I'm not sure it is with orchestra.
