Reading once again the very interesting 1999 interview of Christine Rankl:
http://www.musicweb-international.com/rankl/
made me wonder whether anyone here has broadcasts of some of Rankl's symphonies?
I would have checked in Albion's British Music Archive, but I cannot access it any more.
Following Egon Wellesz and Hans Gál, a modern recording of Rankl's eight symphonies would make sense...

. . . I would have checked in Albion's British Music Archive, but I cannot access it any more. . . .

It works for me (and it is a wonderful resource, as so many have said). Sometimes I have to reload its index page via the link in the present forum:

But unless I am mistaken there is nothing of Rankl therein.

Many thanks! For some reason, I had two different Mediafire links...

I would like to second this request :). Rankl is definitely an interesting composer whose symphonies are high at the top of my wish list!

They're on my list as well. Not only the symphonies though, but also his Oratorio 'Der Mensch'
May be we all should write to CPO asking them to record the works. I did it this morning.

Thanks, Elroel, for writing to CPO :). Let's hope Mr. Schmilgun will take interest-if he does, though, we"ll probably have to wait a while for a CD release ::)!
