The local Curia of the Catholic Church in Sicily has banned a performance of CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA as "immoral".

I wonder if the Curia ever reads any of the Bible. Rape, adultery, murder, betrayal, genocide, theft, sacrilege. Oh, it's got it all that old book.

Next year the opera festival should try staging DEATH IN VENICE - all that stuff about the adoration of an adolescent boy will be just sooo much more popular with the Catholic clergy....
