Complicated reasons.  I have just given this work to a digital distribution setup and it kind of requires me sticking with them. I did it with the understanding that anyone can get access to it freely, without subscribing or any other hassle like that. It should be just as easy as getting hold of Youtube but it's not turning out that way. Streaming companies should be the way forward for guys like me if everyone is easily able to listen to the entire track without installing software and definitely subscribing! It's on many channels and somehow I will figure out a way of providing a hassle free link.  Googleplay was one of the best but it requires people to have a google account.

This is a google play link.  It should work without any problem.

Both should be totally free and easy to obtain.  Otherwise there is no point. They both should opt up a free player on a webpage where you can listen to all or part of the performance. let me sort out another link.

I didn't realise that. Apologies. Is it the same for Deezer?

It should open on a web page.  You don't have to download it or anything.  What happens when you click the link?

By the way the image of long-haired guitarist is another Ian Moore!

This is one of my first orchestral pieces...It is very short - only couple of minutes long. Hope you enjoy it. Link should open spotify player on a web page. Please let me know if there are any problems.

Initially, I intended to write a series of biographical ‘incidents’ outlining significant events in my life. But then, it turned into an observation about the whole concept of self-image. Many of us are familiar with the story of Narcissus. The young man who saw his own reflection in the water and fell in love with it, not realising it was merely an image. Unable to leave the beauty of his reflection, he lost his will to live. He stared at his reflection until he died. We live, perhaps, in a age of narcissism. This is one of my first completed orchestral works. It ends with a de-constructed theme from Igor Stravinsky’s ‘Rite of Spring’.

Does anyone have a comment to make about the music?
26  MEMBERS' CORNER / Members' own compositions, performances & productions / La Palette... on: July 22, 2016, 08:09:06 am
From the ''study of colour and light', this work literally represents an artist's palette.  Solid blocks of colour are placed side by side to create texture and timbre. Conducted by Roger Redgate and performed by the Ensemble Expose.

I can fully sympathise with any member who starts a thread and then gets zero or little response. It is rather frustrating. Sometimes of course, I fully concede, one may have already written as much as anyone else would want to say ;D

I am afraid that I am not really a chamber music sort of person :-[ ::) so I cannot really comment or your piece with anything of value :(

It is just nice to know that there are people out there listening to my music. Thank you.

...it is quite sensitively beautiful.
Thank you for this comment.

Well the word signifies "sensibility" in the Teutonic. Didn't Schumann write a song or piece with that name? I have recorded yours, since it is quite sensitively beautiful.

We may well though ask whether it is not for its composer rather than its auditors to "say" more about it? Compare a) the number of comments made by so many other people upon Brahms's fourth symphony with b) the remarks Brahms himself made or did not on the subject. Yet to which would one turn or go? And why?

Some translate the word as 'sensitivity' rather than 'sensibility'.  E.g Pertaining to the 'senses'.  That is the translation that I am referring to.  Yes, Schumann wrote "Empfindsam" ("Sensitive" or "Sensible").  A collection of piano works.  I much admire Schumann but there is no other connection but the name.
On a forum, it is best when the listeners get a good chance to voice their views about the music. To be honest, I listen to both.  Of course, Brahms' view is incredibly important to my overview of the work but other people's view also provide a fascinating insight; also, composers can be tricky - they say what is in their best interest for you to hear. Sometimes, they are biased in one direction or another. Believe it or not, they might not want to tell you the entire truth!
