Thanks for this. Coincidentally, one of my Google Alerts fired today showing me that he added Ragnar Solderlind's Symphony No. 4 to YouTube.

If there is any way to get in touch with Mr. Stuart, i wonder if there is a possibility that he might rip this concert to MP3 or FLAC, and share it with the members here?

I just stumbled upon an old performance of Turangalila from NRK (the Norwegian TV network) from 1986. I captured the video with Video Downloader and uploaded it to YouTube.

Oslo Philharmonic

Conductor: Marc Soustrot
Soloists: Yvonne Loriod and Jeanne Loriod

I did that already. Look at my edited message in the downloads discussions forum. I added another link.

I found the second half:

Thank you for that-yes, I suspect that the clip is banned here.

However what we have is 4 minutes worth of music. The Two Pieces last 11 minutes. It looks as though this is but one of them :(

Ragnar Soderlind's Two Pieces from the Desert, Op 21B

I captured the audio and put it here (Two parts):

http://www.mediafire.com/watch/lufb8i5jmnazc0z/Ragnar_Soderlind_-_Two_Pieces_in_the_Desert%2C_Op_21B.mp4
http://www.mediafire.com/watch/c5ljgd44so37jqo/Ragnar_Soderlind_-_Two_Pieces_in_the_Desert%2C_Op_21B_-_I_Spent_My_Life.mp4

It's a MP4 file.

Funny, but Video Downloader couldn't capture it. It said something about the media being empty and maybe being protected. I ended up capturing it through a web site called 9xbuddy.com

Hi Colin,

I clicked on the link and it worked just fine. Maybe the video is blocked in certain countries?

What I can do is capture the video and share it somewhere else.

It's a pleasure to provide this to the members of the forum. Enjoy. I often feel that this forum is the only gather spot for fans of Ragnar :-)

Now we have to do a bit of the same for Halvor Haug !

Responding to another request from a few weeks ago .... Here is Ragnar Soderlind's Requiem. The one and only performance, I think.

I managed to find my MP3 files from the webcast that I recorded a few years ago.

There is a performance on YouTube of Soderlind's Violin Concerto played by Isaac Shuldman.

Just last week, one of Soderlind's ex-students posted a comment on the video. I have followed up by asking him if he knows of any recordings of Soderlind's later symphonies.

Sorry, Tobias. I don't have any of these, but I will look through my archives.

By the way, I am a big fan of Guus Janssen. I came across his two solo piano albums (Tast Toe and One The Line) back in the early 80's, and I have been a big fan ever since.
