You could certainly use Audacity.

Roxio Creator NXT will let you do batch conversions.  I don't have the latest version, however.

Hope this helps.

 Me, too, Greg.    :(
3  Assorted items / Commercial recordings (vintage, new and forthcoming) / Re: Ongoing CPO projects. on: May 03, 2017, 06:04:18 pm
I love their recordings and am grateful for them.  What irritates me is, the Hausegger was announced for release two years ago.   The Graener Cello Concerto was too and we've heard nary a word about it since.  What is their point in making these silly announcements when they don't intend to release as promised???

Yes, and once you hear he Enigma Variations with a substantial organ, the performance sounds shallow without it.....
5  ARCHIVED TOPICS / Performance and technique / Re: Stanislaw Skrowaczewski (1923-2017) on: March 08, 2017, 01:41:08 am
He built the Minnesota Orchestra into a world class ensemble.  I'll never forget the Bruckner 9 he conducted in memory of JFK.  he always programmed some 20th century piece which drove me batty but then that's just not my not thing.   A sad day.

6  Assorted items / Individual composers / Re: Domenico Bartolucci (1917-2013) on: March 08, 2016, 12:02:45 am
Thanks, Toby.   I was hoping to find a download site rather than having to order the CDs and pay postage from Italy to the US.  It doesn't look promising.

Bartolucci was the successor to Lorenzo Perosi.  And said to have written a lovely symphony, piano concerto, chamber pieces, etc.  I've not, unfortunately, heard any of it and cannot find downloads of what little has been recorded/performed.   Any help, please?

Could someone point us to the recordings of Potter 4 and Dietrich 2, please?  I can't seem to find them.

T'would be of interest to know what label some of these recordings are/were on.  I've never seen any of the works for chorus and orchestra listed anywhere.  Perhaps they could be posted in the download archive??

Foote:

Piano Quintet in a was available as an Lp
Piano Trios 1 and 2 were on CD
Cello Sonata, opus 78 on Lp
Violin Sonata, opus 20 on Lp
Cello Concerto, Suites, Piano Quartet and some of the above are on YouTube.

So, actually, a fair sampling of his music is or has been available.

I'm with you.  I hate downloading 4 minute movements.  Plus, as you say, often the search.  And frequently it isn't there.......

I'd say in general, our 19th century composers are far more "forgotten" than Leonard's list.   But then, he's the expert, not me.
