This is priceless. Many thanks to Christopher for uploading this music and in a format that will preserve it. I initially had trouble opening the files. I could download load it okay but received an error message when I tried to open it. I tried downloading a newer version of 7z and it worked fine. We owe Christopher a lot for all the uploads he has shared with us.

I agree Jaroch is a fine composer. I also have the LP with his Symphony No. 2 and have always liked it a lot. In fact, the precise date of composition is 1958–60. Movement titles are I. Intrada (Allegro), II. Intermezzo (Allegro non troppo), III. Aria appassionata (Larghetto) and IV. Finale – quasi una Toccata (Molto allegro).
Does anyone know if this symphony exists on CD anywhere in the world?

I, for one, prefer music in the highest quality format and it adds to my enjoyment of the music. As far as I know there is no violation of owners' rights to an LP or radio broadcast being uploaded in a high quality transfer versus mp3 format. If it is copyrighted material both are illegal. If space on your computer is a consideration, one could always convert a lossless format to an mp3 format before filing it. But once you receive a file in mp3 format you can never recover the losses.

Thanks, Musiclover33, for the Heather Schmidt Piano Concerto No.3. I have become a big fan of her music since JollyRoger introduced me to her compositions. PCs Nos.1 & 4 and Sym. No.1 can be found on You Tube. About 20 additional compositions can be found on the Canadian Music Centre website: https://www.musiccentre.ca/composersPC No.3 is a welcomed addition to my collection of her music. Many Thanks. Frank

Little-known music of all eras / New recordings / Re: Lowell Liebermann (b. 1951): Orchestral Works from Albany

Here are a few quotes from Unsung Composers about Liebermann's Second Symphony. I have played this symphony for 5 classical music collectors and they all bought the CD. One of the listeners is an expert reviewer for American Record Guide magazine and he loved the symphony as I do.
112Composers and Music / Re: Living Symphonists Lowell Leiberman « on: Thursday 08 March 2012, 03:49 » Quote from: karelm on Thursday 08 March 2012, 03:19 Quote from: JollyRoger on Thursday 08 March 2012, 03:08
"If you will listen to Lowell Leiberman's Symphony No. 2, you will see that the traditional symphony is far from dead. At least this marvelous symphony makes me feel that way.. There is such an abundance of "music" today, things of real value get lost in all the noise.." (JollyRoger)
"Interesting how perspectives differ. I consider Leiberman's Symphony No. 2 a perfect example of the poor state of modern symphonies. Though it is extremely tonal, this is absolutely 3rd rate composing with nothing original nor distinctive to say. What do you think makes this worth hearing? It reminds me of bad film music." (Karelm)
This was my response:
"If you didn't like watermelon and someone else did, would you criticize them for it? And what music credentials do you have to call this third rate composing? Are you also an expert on religion and politics?"
