Title: Ingvar Lidholm (1921-2017)
Post by: britishcomposer on October 20, 2017, 10:47:06 pm
I have only just realised that Ingvar Lidholm died last Tuesday at 96 years.
Swedish Radio P2 will dedicate a programme to his memory on monday:

He had a good run.  But I am not so familiar with the composer so will try to hear the Swedish radio program.

Sorry to hear this, he lived to a good age, but doesn't seem to have composed much in the last quarter century.. The first piece of Lidholm's music that I heard was a choral work on radio 3 a riveder le stelle, a powerful piece. I'm familiar with some of the orchestral pieces, with Greetings from an Old World and Kontakion being probably the best known and featuring on a Chandos cd.
