Title: EMI Green Series?
Post by: calyptorhynchus on August 09, 2017, 10:26:34 pm
Not sure where to put this one...

I've been wallowing in nostalgia recently and was thinking about some recordings I heard back in the 80s as a teenager first listening to classical music.

I remembered that there were EMI recordings (LPs, cassettes and early CDs) which had a green livery instead of the usual red EMI colour scheme. Does anyone know whether they were a Green Series, or if they had a particular name? And what was the rationale for their colour scheme? I remember some C20 English works on one, Lutosławski on another and Sibelius on a third, so were they C20 works as opposed to C19?

If I had a name for the series it might help to search for titles if I wanted to reacquaint myself with any of them.

That's it! And some of the ones I was remembering are there.

Ah, nostalgia!

Thanks
