Thanks for the links Michael R. So what, I wonder, are the specific 'tools, technique and methods' (for which this thread title indicates discussion) that apply to this particular harmonic idiom. They seem clearly not to be serialistic; neither are they completely 'atonal' (since a feeling of harmonic movement/cadence presents itself - at least to this listener).

What scale system is employed (for example)?

The first time I tried the "audio" page it came up blank - it may assist members to know that I had to click on "enable plug-ins" (which I do not normally have enabled) before I saw the - quite long - list of excerpts and was able to play them. (Thank you! I'll post some impressions after listening to them all.)


Well I waited but all I got was a page saying:

"Invalid Friend ID.
This user has either cancelled their membership, or their [sic] account has been deleted."

Does it work for any one else?

I too was unable to hear the rest of that piece, receiving only the same message! But I did listen to the excerpts in the first link.
