Revisiting the music of the 'Boston Six' (Amy Beach, George Chadwick, Arthur Foote, Edward MacDowell, John Knowles Paine and Horatio Parker) there is a rich catalog of these composers.

Arthur Foote's recorded music seems to have been neglected, other than a few recordings on Naxos and Marco Polo.  Were any of the orchestral works recorded on LP?

There's a set of the complete piano music of Foote available.

There are earlier recordings of the works on the Naxos CD. At least five recordings of the Suite in E have been released over the years, most notably Koussevitzky's classic recording. Jorge Mester and the Louisville Orchestra recorded two works, as did Karl Krueger in his classic series from the Society for the Preservation of the American Musical Heritage. One of those Krueger recordings, Foote's Suite in D minor, has never been reissued on CD nor recorded by any other conductor that I'm aware of. I can upload the work if there is interest.

Much of Foote's music is excellent and memorable. In addition to the orchestral music, there is also much fine chamber music and piano and organ works.

I have been able to find almost all of Foote's chamber and orchestral works recorded (only a few were live renditions).

Chamber pieces recorded: opp. 1, 4, 5, 9, 20, 23, 31-32, 38, 44, 65, 69-70, 74, 76, and nocturne for flute and string quartet and sarabande and rigaoudon for oboe, viola, and piano

Chamber pieces unrecorded (as far as I can tell): opp. 22, 77, 78

Orchestral pieces recorded: opp. 24, 33, 36, 48, 63, A night piece for flute and strings

Orchestral pieces unrecorded: opp. 14, 25

we may have discussed this in the past... just downloaded a copy of Chadwick's Symphony (No 1) to look it over.  too bad it has not be recorded...
