He was born in 1975 in Cluj Napoca. In 1989 he moved to Hungary where he was admitted to the Béla Bartók Secondary Music School. His first individual composer's concert took place in March 1992 at the Conservatory. He studied composition with György Orbán at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music.

His most important work until now has been an opera in two acts titeled "A gólyakalifa" (The Storkclaiph) based on the novel of Mihály Babits. It's first performance took place at the Hungarian State Opera in May 2005. Recently he has written numerous choral works: Assumpta est Maria for mixed choirs, Két keserû népdal for mixed choirs, Salve Regina for soprano solo, female choir and two instruments, Vanitatum vanitas for female choris (2001) and Missa Lux et Origo also for female choirs (2004).
He also composed a symphonic cycle in five movements titeled Verkündigung which was first performed in 2003. In 2004 the Budapest Spring Festival hosted the performance of his oratorio Canticle of the Sun. Nowadays he is occupied with composing a Passion of Luke.

He completed Mozart's unfinished opera L'oca del Cairo which was performed in Vienna, Salzburg and in Budapest, too.

Since 2002 he is assistant professor at the Music Theory Department of the Academy of Music. He was awarded Erkel Prize in 2005 and Bartók-Pásztory Ditta-prize in 2009.

He is indeed a wonderful composer! Probably one of the most important unsungs of our era.
