I try to start listening to the work and stopped in 5 secs. Can not get used to those synths.
Some time ago I was in contact with a young(er) Norwegian composer, Filip Sande, who also has a couple of synth files on his site. He doesn't like the sounds as well, he told me, but it is the only way his works can be heard. There is no money, and probably also no time, to record the works properly. But sometimes .... and that's what we all are waiting for. Title: Re: Edward Lein, composer Post by: Jolly Roger on July 17, 2014, 01:39:42 am The link to the symphony at least offers more info. I find something about synth, moog, theramin and other electronic "instruments" to be a difficult listen at best. Some time ago I was in contact with a young(er) Norwegian composer, Filip Sande, who also has a couple of synth files on his site. In addition to the synthesized* recordings, there are also some recordings of live performances of some of my chamber and vocal works, and also the 2nd movement (Meditation) from Symphony no. 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpvEM1pHV0w - The YouTube video shows the score along with the audio recording. - Program notes: https://leinmachine.blogspot.com/p/program-notes-i.html#LEIN-Symphony_No.1 * (Note that the actual sounds in all the synthesized recordings are not computer-generated - the "library" of notes played back via the notation software were all recorded by members of, I believe, the London Symphony using their regular acoustic instruments.)
