Thanks for this - I was just thinking about him earlier today, and wondering what I might be able to dig up online. I know he wrote an opera, The Prodigal Son, which appears to have been recorded, but I can't for the life of me find a copy available. Title: Re: Romualds Kalsons Post by: Jolly Roger on April 26, 2014, 08:35:05 am Kalsons can be a tough nut to crack, some his early music does not move me much. The 5th symphony and Concerto Grosso
I did like a lot. BUT All I can say is that his violin concerto left me breathless..not for the weark of heart or the unadventurous.. The orchestral effects are simply dazzling..it is at the U tube site mentioned above. Title: Re: Romualds Kalsons Post by: cjvinthechair on April 26, 2014, 11:01:50 am Great 'steer', Mr. Rkhenderson. Thank you !

They're both on a CD: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Romualds-Kalsons-Concerto-Symphonic-Variations/dp/B00004W1YT I also enjoyed a lot the music posted on this forum by Juris Karlsons. |
