Title: Jaromir Weinberger (1896-1967): Lincoln Symphony (1941)
Post by: kyjo on February 24, 2013, 01:28:30 am
YouTube (along with this forum) continues to reduce my symphony wish list by the day, this recent upload of Weinberger's Lincoln Symphony (which was quite high up on my symphony wish list) by the fascinating channel jksteven1 being a case in point: http://youtu.be/nSmKb4BiYPE

What little I have heard of Weinberger's music has left me thirsting for more. Now I have access to a substantial (nearly 40 minute) work of his-a wonderful birthday present indeed :) (Yeah, I just had to add it in somewhere that today is my birthday ;D)

BTW it is performed by the NYPO under Sir Eugene Goossens in a radio broadcast from 1941.
