Nazib Zhiganov (Нази́б Жига́нов) was born in 1911 in Uralsk (Oral) Kazakhstan. He gave us sixteen grand symphonies, in the years 1937, 1968,  1971, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1985.

He also left us eight operas and much else.

His operas were all relatively early works; the last one was Jalil, from 1957. It was based on the life of the poet Musa Cälil. Here it is, with French subtitles:
