Valentin Bibik (or Valentyn Bibyk or Валентин Бибик) was born in Kharkiv in 1940. He gave us at least twelve grand symphonies:

no. 1, 1966
no. 2, 1969
no. 3, 1970
no. 4, 1976
no. 5, 1978
no. 6, 1980
no. 7, 1982
no. 8, 1986
no. 9, 1989
no. 10, 1990
no. 11, 1991
no. 12, 1994

He also left us five beautiful string quartets, written between the years 1990 and 2002.

His style is linked with folklore, though folk elements are always radically modified. Rooted in strong Slavic melodic traditions, his harmony is based on polytonal combinations of triads, layered so that each line – which is often laced with diatonic elements – has a harmonic life of its own.

Here is his poem-symphony "Farewell" (I don't at present know which symphony number this is or its date).

Also symphonies no. 5, 10, concertos...etc. in the same channel
