Harp Concerto by Alberto Ginastera
Repost from UC.

This is a recording of the  Harp Concerto by Alberto Ginastera was premiered in March 1965 with Nicanor Zabaleta and the Philadelphia Orchestra, conducted by Eugene Ormandy, from a radio  broadcast.

The work is divided into three movements:
1.   Allegro giusto
2.   Molto moderato
3.   Liberamente capriccioso - Vivace

My source is divided into 4 tracks, the 3rd Movement may be split, but I welcome any insight form people who give this a listen.

Alberto Williams (1862-1952)  - Symphony Nº 1 in B minor (1907)
Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional / Juan Carlos Zorzi

Broadcast by Radio Nacional Clásica on Nov. 9, 2012.
I did not intend to upload it here, since there were many broadcast problems that night (maybe coming from my connection?) and the recording is plagued with hiccups and gaps. In addition, the B minor tonality sounds like B flat minor. However, here it is for kyjo and any other Art-Music member interested. At least one can guess what the piece should sound like.

A great week for symphony lovers on RNA, with two major Argentine works, not yet available on commercial recordings to the best of my knowledge.

Luis Gianneo (1897-1968)
Symphony of the Americas (1945, world première [!])
Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional / Guillermo Scarabino
11.4.1984

Broadcast by Radio Nacional Clásica on Nov. 14, 2012. A nice surprise actually, since it replaced a piece by Pascual de Rogatis which can already be found on YouTube.

Valdo Sciammarella (1924)
Symphony "Verrá la morte", for baritone and orchestra on the poem by Cesare Pavese (2001, world première)
Orquesta Filarmónica de Buenos Aires / Carlos Calleja
Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires, 17.6.2004

Broadcast by Radio Nacional Clásica on Nov. 19, 2012.

Five years ago, Bill Anderson did a wonderful job of improving a very limited recording of William Schuman's Symphony No. 2 originally downloaded from Unsung Composers (and then posted in AMF).
Now he worked in another withdrawn symphony: Sinfonia Elegiaca (1944) by Alberto Ginastera conducted by none other than Erich Kleiber with the Symphony of Chile (recorded on acetate in 1950).
After this, Buster (of the dear blog Big 10-inch records) made an important contribution. Here is the outcome:
